The 2015 Canadian general election is just weeks away, and your 4/5 teachers are engaging the children in lively and active discussions about the democratic process. Just as we did for the spring provincial election, we have registered our classes through the Student Vote program offered by CIVIX. Learn more about that program here.
Please take some time to talk with your child about the election process, and what it means to you. Because we live in a democratic society, and because voter turnout is remarkably low for young people in Canada, we feel these conversations are very important. Consider the following:
